36 weeks and no plans for Maternity Leave Yet

Its been a crazy ending to my week. I love owning my own business and being my own boss. I have studied Early Childhood Education for about 10 years now and have held numerous positions working with children from the Church nursery, babysitting, Nanny and now a childcare provider for 7 years. There isn't a single one I couldn't go back and visit and see that wasn't happy with the care I provided. I'm a hard worker and treat each day as if viewing it from their eyes. My motto has always been been What if today was their only day at preschool, what would their experience be, what would I want them to get out of it. Over the years I have hired numerous employees some good and some just plain awful. Its really hard to employ a great employee and train them with the same work ethics as you. Theres those who show up to work to get by and theres those who show up and get **it done. Recently I had an employee that I just newly hired quit on my two days before I was due to go on Maternity leave. She was hired strictly to cover my maternity leave, now I am in a complete pickle. I have to work until I can find another person. I'm picky especially since I wont be working and watching them while on my Maternity Leave. My point being its hard to find a decent employee, one that works hard, shows up on time, is reliable, is here for the kids, not to text on her cell phone, or sit on her bum all day. There is plenty of time to sit while doing activities, and theres a two hour break to talk on the phone in the afternoon. I understand its long hours and childcare doesn't pay well in this industry. But please send me someone who knows about children and would find this job rewarding. I know there out there.

On Thursday my doctor told me I am no longer able to work due to my blood pressure and pulse being elevated. I told him I had to work one more day while I hired an employee. I spent Friday interviewing people and working, by nap time I got to rest and my blood pressure was through the roof. I called my doctor and he sent me to the emergency room. I have strict orders now not to work but I have nobody to cover my shift. As soon as I am able to hire one then I will feel less stressed and will be able to relax upstairs to we can safely get this baby out of my body. As you can see even though my blood pressure is high I feel just fine.

I took a picture of my slightly chubby hand to mark what it is today and see any changes that happen. I wish I had a picture of my hand before I had this swelling to show how this difference. It was such a dainty hand that my wedding ring still fit on.
On Saturday I did go watch my God daughter. I pay for her to take ballet and tap but have not seen her in action yet. Afterwards we went to Round Tables pizza then went to the $3 movies and saw Hotel for Dogs.

Shes showing me her moves

Casting a Baby Bump

I decided to go visit my nurse at the Fertility clinic to show her how big I am now. She was so excited to see me and even got to feel Landon kick. I also got to see some of the other nurses who helped me when I was dealing with OHSS. I plan on going back in a little while to show them baby and let them hold him.
So here it is my 34 week belly.
This is actually last weeks picture.

Omg where is my belly button ....hehhe its so stretched.

Naked Baby Bumps look like a giant boob.

So today I went and did something totally awesome. I went and got a belly casting done. It was really wierd I had to rub vaseline all over my belly then I had plaster strips laid across my belly then smoothed out. After about a half hour it dried and I wiggled out of it. She said I could pick it up in three days I cant wait to show my husband. It has my belly button and everything in it. I'll take a pic when I get mine back but here is what a belly cast look likes. The top picture is unfinished. The bottom picture is finished and sanded. You can also have it painted with a mural of the babies name, length weight. I plan to have my just sanded and leave natural.

MckMama needs another Miracle

Little Stellan is in the hospital and needs our prayers. We all know MckMama and follow her blog. If you don't here is a link

Here's what she wrote about her son: MckMuffin is our cuddly 4 month old son S! In the womb, he was diagnosed with heart failure: premature atrial contractions at 20 weeks; supraventricular tachycardia, hydrops, and intermittent advanced secondary heart block at 23 weeks; and enlargement of the heart at 32 weeks. When the doctors told us at 24 weeks that our very ill baby would surely die, we chose to give our son completely to God, for He alone knows best. We have not stopped praising our Lord since then, for MckMuffin was healed and was born a well and whole full-term baby...with dimples!!

He has been very healthy minus a RSV battle in December. He had some congestion and a cold over the weekend and she brought him in the hospital because hewwas having coughing spells on the phlegm he was gagging up. They gave him a Nebulizer treatment which worked great but it set his heart into a weird arrhythmia of 300 bpm. Stellan's heart is in Supra Ventricular Tachycardia. They transferred him to Childrens hospital where for the last 24 hrs have been starting and stopping his heart hoping to trick it to slow down and restart in a regular pattern. They have not have had any luck getting his heart to coperate and his heart will only be able to handle this for so long. So please add him to your prayer list or say a quick prayer for this little miracle child. He needs one more miracle to correct his heart.

Baby Shower # 3 Daycare Families

My super sweet husband who has been so kind to hang with all the women for the day.

Omgoodness I love sherbert punch

Landon is the most crazy super spoiled kid, I just hope he doesnt have a bratty attitude and learns to appreciate the kindness of others.

My moms & friends made yummy appetizer

All of these ladies are my daycare moms or past daycare moms whose children used to attend my preschool.

Once again playing the how big is my belly, this time three women all tied.
Thats my grandma and auntie on the far left.

They had a minute to make a baby out of playdough. Heres the winner.

One of my mommies is due 7 days before me. Ughhh no fair look how small she is, and its her second baby.

These mommies were extremely generous to our family and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I hope they all love Landon as much as I love there children.
And these are a few of my daycare kiddos asking Landon if it easter and time to come out yet.

Time for nap......goodnight Landon.

Yes I have to talk about it .... Circumcision

**Update** OK I have enough opinions from many living in the UK or overseas that are for not circumcising. As I do appreciate the input and websites. I do know I usually only get 40 views a week on my blog, in the last 24 hours I have gotten over 450 views on just the circumsicion post. What I dont appreciate is that my Blog must have been posted on somesort of message board without my permission giving all of you the same opinion since I assume are all from the same non-circumcising board. Cultural practices are different for each country even varies from each city. I do not appreciate some of the rude comments or the curse words left in my comments and if anything it makes me completely feel biased against the way you feel. I TOTALLY do not appreciate ANYONE who chose to bash my husband or tell me he is wrong to feel that way or you telling me how he feels. That is wrong. We will raise our son the way we choose to do either circumicised or intact. It is our decision.

Ok last week at my birthing class we talked about it and watched a video. I am mortified about how they do it. I cant do it to my son, it makes me panic thinking about causing him pain like that.

Now the debate in my house is my husband wants it done 100%. He says a son should match his Dad but doesn't have much other then that idea. I had to argue with that because I asked him if him and his dad ever compared their penis at any point in his life. =) NO of course they haven't it that is not a good enough reason to me.

I asked my mother what she thought on the subject and she tells me you have to do it because he'll get an infection. I then asked her in 30 years of being a nurse has she seen or heard of any child or man having an infection from being uncircumcised. Her answer was NO.

I just cant do it. I cant have his arms and legs strapped down while they use 3 clamp tools to pull the skin up and use an exacto knife blade to cut away at him all while he screams his head off with no pain reliever and then give him stiches and send him home.

My husband argues that he doesn't remember it and he turned out fine. He is also not a child development major like me and know about the infants brain. Infants from birth and possible even before birth develop Somatic memory to events that frighten, scare or cause phsycological harm to them. They do remember it even if they cant recall why they are scared or have a feeling about a certain situation.

The only reason circumcision was first done was to prevent masturbation and it decreases stimulation during sex. Of course we know it does not decrease men from doing this so I say if my son chooses at any time in his life to become circumcised I will go with him where he can be put under anesthesia and have it done because it is his choice but I am not going to mutilate him just because its a cultural thing to do.

Until 1985 the medical field did not think Infants could feel pain but as they studied the stress/pain hormone in Infants did they discover that they could feel it. So why are we still preforming this procedure without local anesthetic or pain relievers.

I don't think any different to someone who has circumcised or someone who hasn't circumcised their child. It think its a personal choice your family has to make and what you choose is your best choice. We still don't have a decision in our home what is best, since we are opposites on it. I keep saying I wish I was having a girl then I wouldn't have to make this choice. Then theres all the questions I have can I be with my son while its done, can he have a pacifier to help sooth him during the procedure. In fact I know for sure I wont be there I will make my husband do it if we end up choosing to do it. But right now I cant even stomach the idea its horrible. If you don't believe me go to and type in Circumcision and watch exactly what happens during the procedure =(Check Spelling

If you would like to leave a comment please do even if its anonymous I know we all have differences in opinions but this is just such a major decision right now.

Baby Shower # 2 Family and Friends

Thanks April I stole your idea off your blog and got crafty with it and made this cute BABY side snapping newborn shirts banner then made the SHOWER gift bags that doubled as prizes for the games.
My MIL threw this beautiful party at her house and had her cater make everything mini for my tea party theme.

She decorated with duckies theme

We played the how fat is the mother to be game

That's my mom in the background helping my husband decide how fat he thinks I am. He was very smart and pulled out a string and cut it at about 18 inches.

The gift table, Landon was spoiled generously.

My favorite game, Memorize everything on the tray game

Then we had deserts and cupcakes with coffee and tea service.

Then I had to show everyone how Bella howls whenever anyone cries and that I must find her a place to go for a week or two when the baby comes home because she is going to howl all night long when the baby cries in the middle of the night.

I am so happy I have a funny husband who lets me do whatever I want to him. =)

We got a lot of really cute things

The scrumptious cupcakes from The icing on the Cake.

Results from the party and amazingly we got no duplicates and don't have to return anything unless something is defective. Landon got lots of clothes, cloth diapers, toys, books, blankets and a pack and play as well as the arms reach cocoon sleeper.
Thank you everyone who came and those that were unable to make it as well. We are so blessed and I thank God for great friends and family like you guys. We have another shower next weekend and I cant imagine we would need any more things.

I <3 heart <3 Etsy!

Ok I am in love with and, they have some of the cutest things made by WAHMs. I just love handmade things. I appreciate the things some women can come come up with and are so crafty. I envy their time. If I had more time I would sew, scrapbook or paint or try out some of that Modge Podge stuff that April seems to come up with to all sorts of things to do with. In the meantime I wanted some handmade things for my little guy that not everyone would have. Plus having a boy theres not many things in the store that are just to stinking cute. So I will show you some of the things that arrived in the mail this week I guarantee they are to stinking cute.

Isn't this bumbo cover to cute? The place where the babies arms rest is minkee so its soft and the two pieces of ribbon in the front will hold those links to connect to a toy for baby. My little Bella wanted to try it out and decided to take a nap for a few hours.

I got this matching burp cloth and bib from another seller for very cheap. I think they turned out very cute.

Ummmm OK this is so stinking adornable. Custom monkey onesie so cute and was so hard to find boy things but when I saw this I just knew I had to get it.

Since finding out my lil guy might be a big guy. I had to get a back up outfit for the "Take home" hospital outfit and when I saw this beautiful handmade boutique looking gown I had to have it. Its even more beautiful in person and will fit fit him if he comes out weighing to much. Lets cross our fingers he is the average baby size though.

Landon's Nursery is Finally Done!!!!!

Real Quick I thought I would share my week 32 baby bump

The front view, he moved head down this week
I finally was able to book the muralist and come up with a plan for Landon's room. I think it turned out absolutely wonderful, even better then I imagined. She worked for a total of 3 days. We wanted to make it like a vintage Fire Station but not overwhelming since the room already has so many details, shelving, and pictures on the wall.
His Fire Hydrant

His closet Doors

His name above the Closet

Entrance to his room, the pole is marked with measurements so I can keep track of his growth

Goes all the way to the ceiling

My Aunt made this quilt its called "Bearily Hiding"

His dresser with changing station

Up close detail of his mobile that hangs above his bed.

Family pic in my to die for comfy chair

I see that I didn't take a picture of the big bookshelf in the corner, his crib or the inside of the closet. I promise to do that soon. I guess I also didn't take a picture of the entire room from the door. Just feels good to have it all done and just waiting for him to come. Baby Showers are the next two weekends. I am really excited! I have been wanting to get the last things on the registries but will wait to see what I get. It will be nice to see some people that I have not seen in awhile and show them my baby bump.
